Every time we go out to eat the dilemma comes up over where to go! Oishii is the first suggestion every single time. Now, at first I just thought this was a running joke, but it's unquestionable that this sushi restaurant is one of the best of its kind in Brisbane. Its no shock to me that Oishi is always crazy busy every night of the week. Having said this, don’t be discouraged to take the trip. They have always been able to cater large groups swiftly!
BB Recommendation – Himiwari or Red Dragon Roll. Well, pretty much any roll!
Market Square, 341 Mains Road, Sunnybank, Brisbane
A gem hidden in Market Square, Pho Hung serves up the best in traditional Vietnamese dishes. It’s a smaller restaurant, but that’s what adds to the authentic feeling. The portions are generous and the prices are more than reasonable, making Pho Hung perfect for your mid-week cheap eats.
BB Recommendation – Beef Combo Pho Noodle Soup
Market Square, Shop 20B, 334 Mains Road, Sunnybank, Brisbane, QLD
This wouldn’t be a guide to Sunnybank if we didn’t include our go-to Yum Cha spot! Taste Gallery, hidden at the back of Market Square boasts a large dining space, and an even bigger menu of dumplings, noodles and rice dishes. Possibly a little more pricier than its competitors, but makes up for it with flavour!
BB Recommendation – BBQ Beef Brisket in Noodle Soup
258 Warrigal Road, Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane, QLD
Okay, who doesn’t love ramen? That’s right, no one! But finding the best place to get it can be somewhat tricky. Good ramen isn’t the easiest thing to find, and there are chains out there pumping it out without the love it deserves. That’s when we stumbled across Genkotsu Ramen, hidden down Warrigal Road in the Coles shopping plaza. Now I know this isn’t technically Sunnybank, but it's close enough, and it's where you’re going to find the most authentic flavours and ingredients used by Japanese chefs.
BB Recommendation – Genkotsu Ramen
Sunnybank Plaza, Shop 123, 358 Mains Road, Sunnybank, Brisbane
