Where to Wine This Weekend

Maybe this isn’t the weekend where you’ll be climbing the rock face of Mt. Tibrogargen, surfing up at Noosa heads or taking a few laps around Kingston Park Raceway. The temperature has dropped (well slightly) so maybe this is the weekend it's time to slouch about with a good wine and cheese platter. Here’s a short list of good place to indulge.

Grape Therapy Drinking Den

Adelaide St & Macrossan St, Brisbane City QLD 4000

grape therapy

Boasting highly educated grape therapists – this place may have just answered our prayers. Grape Therapy welcomes all walks of life up to the seasoned experts. The city bar offers only the best from the World of wine, farmhouse cheese and artisan cold cut meats – so make sure you sample it all! The Cellar also offers rooms for private functions as well as regular events for wine tasting.. Oh and if you’re on the go, they also do takeaway bottles 😉

Cru Bar + Cellar

1/22 James St, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006

cru bar

Award winning and quite possibly the best in the city – you’ve probably already heard of Cru Bar. Situated on the lovely James Street, Cru is a lovely place to sit, back, relax and enjoy the ambience over a glass of Shiraz. Make sure you have a look at some of the share plates on the food menu – you simply can’t go past the cured salmon with guacamole, shave fennel, ruby grapefruit, coriander served with tortilla chips.

Mr and Mrs G Riverbar

Eagle Street Pier, 1 Eagle St, Brisbane City QLD 4000

mr and mrs g

It’s one of those places I’ve walked past so many times and only now finally got to venture inside. Mr and Mrs G is simply awesome – live music, awesome cocktails and of course a delectable selection of wines. Oh and did we mention the lounge chairs that overlook the river – yeah this place is literally hanging on the edge of the river banks so you couldn’t ask for a more unadulterated view!
