Come rain or shine, if your after a quality meal with a craft beer or a cheeky wine, make sure you check out The Bent Elbow in Stones Corner.

It's common knowledge that eating seasonally will give you the best tasting food and now you can drink seasonally too. Perfect! The 12 rotating beers on tap and the extensive list of Shirazs' and Chardonnays available are locally sourced and of course, dependent on the season. Glancing over the menu, one would assume the owners' ethos is to use fresh produce from local butchers, suppliers and farmers. As a keen market goer and a love to have fresh produce in the fridge, this was perfect for me.

We were seated in the more formal dining area which had dimmer lighting and a nice relaxed atmosphere. There is also an indoor beer garden fitted with AstroTurf, pretty hanging fairy lights and plants as well as casual chairs and a TV to enjoy the footy on the big screen.

The mouth-watering menu has a great variety of dishes to suit everyone from entrΓ©es and plates to share to everything in-between. With so many options to choose from, it was hard to only pick two but we settled on the 8 Hour slow roasted lamb shoulder and the Wagyu bacon cheese burger.

The slow roasted lamb was accompanied with my favourite Greek salad, tzatzki, pita bread and rustic fries. The Wagyu bacon cheese burger with chipotle aioli, maple bacon, blue cheese, onion jam, mustard and bbq sauce was also a winner...and wow those rustic fries where to die for! Portion sizes were generous, which is always a big tick.

We washed everything down with The Consequences lager, Cloudy cider and Golden ale. There were many other beers on offer which would be great to sample as a tasting option. The service was quick and the waiters were polite and knowledgeable about the origin of the produce. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, you can also check out the small variety of desserts on offer.

The Bent Elbow has close street parking available as well as 2 hour free parking, and local buses. We really enjoyed our meals and will defiantly be returning!

Our Opinion

The Bent Elbow is the perfect place for weekend lunch, family dinner or to enjoy a couple of beers with mates.
