Warm chicken club sandwiches, veggie burgers, Thai beef salads... they're all part of the new autumn menu at The Roastery Cafe!
Tucked away in the backstreets of Southbank, The Roastery Cafe has a cool, industrial exterior with quirky laneway seating and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The smell of warm comfort food and fresh roasted coffee slithers down the street and greets you from a few blocks away, which whets your appetite and makes you all the more eager to arrive. When just the smell is this good you know the food will be extraordinary before you even try it!
The Roastery Cafe's new autumn menu pays homage to classic autumn flavours and ingredients we all know and love, like chicken and pumpkin, roast beef and sauerkraut and fresh wintergreen salads with seasonal avocado and spiced marinated beef.
One of their newest additions, the chickpea veggie burger, combines the flavours of the middle east with our Aussie penchant for burgers. The chickpea patty has the warm spices of the middle east, like cumin, coriander and turmeric, and is fried to crispy perfection. Lathered in a garlic yoghurt dressing and wedged between a toasted brioche bun, you couldn't ask for a better or more flavoursome burger.
The steak sandwich with gooey melted cheese, caramelised onion, fresh salad and toasty ciabatta bread was every bit as tasty as it sounds. The sound of the ciabatta bread crunching as you bite into it and the way the cheese melts in your mouth and turns to string when you pull away makes this sandwich hard to forget. The steak is ever so tender and buttery and contrasts well with the toasty ciabatta. The salad cleanses your palate as the cheese and steak are quite rich and hearty. This sandwich is well balanced and made with care. It is a must order!
The chicken club sandwich, chicken and pumpkin salad, Thai beef salad and beef burger are all exceptional new additions to their autumn menu. They're warm and hearty but light and refreshing at the same time, which matches the season of autumn.
For classic autumn dishes and flavours, The Roastery Cafe is the perfect cafe to visit. With vegetarian and gluten free options, there's something for everyone this autumn season at The Roastery Cafe.
