With a modern Asian-fusion menu and a vibrant, Balinese-style decor, Pawpaw Cafe is a quirky, health-conscious cafe that caters to all types of palates!
Tucked away in the backstreets of Woolloongabba, Pawpaw Cafe has a rustic and quirky exterior with corrugated iron walls decorated with vibrant graffiti-style art work and a bright, neon orange sign. With an Instagram-worthy exterior, you get a strong sense that the food and decor waiting inside will be equally as Instragrammable and extraordinary as the outside.
In an old Queenslander cottage, Pawpaw Cafe is open and light courtesy of the large glass windows at the front which allow the natural light to flood in and illuminate the crisp, white chairs and hutch-style hanging lights that contrast with the rustic timber tables creating a stylish yet casual space. The pops of Balinese culture, like the vases of green fronds, is a tribute to the south-east Asian inspired menu which adds a touch of authenticity.
As you walk through the homely, white door, the warm aroma of freshly ground coffee instantly greets you along with the comforting sound and smell of food gently simmering away. With the teasing aroma of coffee wafting through the air, the staff are pleasantly quick to take your drink order before breakfast is served.
Inspired by the warm colours and flavours of Autumn, Pawpaw Cafe has thoughtfully devised a fresh, new breakfast menu that incorporates their signature south-east Asian flavours. The Bali Bowl, one of their new vegetarian breakfast additions, is a standout; warm roasted pumpkin and quinoa with grilled tomato, fresh spinach and homemade dukkah topped with a soft-poached egg and curried-aioli. It's got the soft, earthy colours of Autumn, the delicious warmth of curry and the earthiness from the dukkah which makes it a wholesome dish that would satisfy anyone with a penchant for clean, nutritious food.
The blueberry pancakes tasted just as good as they looked, so did the Israeli avocado toast which was earthy and nourishing. The Asian omelette was light and nutritious and the eggs Benedict was refreshingly healthy with the addition of crispy kale and the turmeric hollandaise sauce. The beef cheek burrito was hearty and satiating and the perfect dish for anyone who loves well-cooked beef.
For delicious, fresh food served in a quirky space with an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that caters for carnivores, vegans and vegetarians, Pawpaw Cafe is the perfect place to visit - any time of day!
Vibrant and healthy, Pawpaw Cafe is the complete cafe package with a beautifully decorated space and delicious, fresh food with an Asian twist.
