While you’ll find some of Brisbane’s best Asian food in the oriental hub that is Market Square, if you venture down Mains Rd for another five minutes, you’ll discover some of the city’s top Japanese.
Oishii, located in Sunnybank Hills, has been one of our personal favourites for quite some time. The dishes are created with as fresher produce as you can get - an absoloute must when dining Japanese. The service is always warm and welcoming, and they cater well for large groups. One thing to note is that parking can get full quite easily within the complex, so save yourself the trouble and park in Pinelands Shopping Centre next door.
While these guys nail the traditional Japanese dishes, like your Chicken Karage and Yakitori Skewers, they also offer a great range of sushi plates with a twist. The Tempura Delight and Spider Rolls are always popular among customers, but if you crave that extra hit that the wasabe doesn’t quite fullfil, give the Dynamite Roll a crack. Oishii’s special spicy sauce certainly packs a punch, and you’ll need a water close by if you go down the Dynamite road!
Oishii’s Agedashi Tofu is a great option for those looking for something a bit more on the light side. There’s something about the deep fried tofu that soaks in the Konbu Dashi broth that really does it for us - it’s consistently good so you’re guaranteed to be pleased!
One of Brisbane's top Japanese restaurants. Expect plenty of change, these guys are cheap too!
