Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen is determined to celebrate fresh, whole ingredients and the belief that the best meals are made simplistically in their cafe in West End.
Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen has one of the loveliest fitouts in Brisbane. The front is bright with lots of tables resplendent with vases of flowers. However walk down a short hallway past the kitchen and you are in a peaceful paradise. The back of the cafe is completely open to the outdoors. You can sit in the cafe and look out over the herb garden, or you can venture onto the patio for some fresh air.
It’s a rare breakfast menu where it’s a struggle to choose what to eat; but everything on the menu at Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen sounded delicious. This was made more impressive because almost every option was gluten free, dairy free, vegan or a combination of all three. Eventually the vegan chai pumpkin waffles won. I’m not sure what they used in the waffles if not regular flour but I do know they were some of the crispiest waffles I have ever eaten. The tangy coconut yoghurt and sweet grilled bananas helped to perfectly balance the dish.
As an accompaniment I had two drinks; a latte and a turmeric fusion smoothie. The latte was what you would expect in any decent cafe in Australia but the smoothie was a real stand out. Featuring mango, banana, cinnamon, turmeric, chia seeds and almond milk it was surprisingly light and incredibly tasty.
It’s hard to decide what was the real stand out at Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen; the yummy food or the fantastic setting you get to enjoy your breakfast in. The wide variety of options will suit anyone’s dietary needs (there’s even a kid’s menu). This makes it the ideal place for a pre-work breakfast meeting, post work-out catch up or lazy weekend brunch.
