Mecca Bah is one of Brisbane's greatest outlets to provide quality Middle Eastern food in a modern dining experience. Located on the ground floor of The Emporium, the restaurant is convenient for a night out and a central location to meet with others. With their new menu, Mecca Bah radiate quality, variety and a whole world of flavours.
Mecca Bah offer a range of Mezze, or starters to accompany their finely crafted and selected beverages. We started off with the Fried Moroccan Cauliflower served with crushed pinenuts and tahini sauce. The warmth and crispiness of the cauliflower teamed with the creamy tahini sauce tied in well together. To match, we sipped on a Lemon Sherbet Cocktail and a Turkish Delight Martini. While the Lemon Sherbet Cocktail tasted more like a refreshing glass of old-school lemonade, the Turkish Delight Martini was dangerously delicious and transformed and captured it's inspiration perfectly.
When the mains came out I was pleasantly surprised to see the big changes coming of Mecca Bah. Entertaining us was the Spiced Lamb Shanks with pearl couscous, tomato, cucumber, onion, and parsley and the Tunisian Salmon Fillet served with pearl couscous, rocket, fetta, tomato, and lemon. The salmon kept its crispy skin but it's beautifully tender meat was a mouth-watering feast in itself. Accompanied by a flavoursome side salad, the juicy lamb shanks fell away from the bone. Both were perfectly cooked with quality produce.
Of course, we lacked self control when it came to the dessert menu. Not being able to decide between the Sticky Date and Banana Pudding or the Turkish Delight Chocolate Cake, we chose both sided with pistachio ice cream. Being one of the best decisions of our week, we highly suggest you try both.
Impressive updates to the new menu. Consistent quality over all meals. Dessert took the cake.
