There's no better way to wake up than to a mountain of waffles, ice cream and fairy floss... I don't even think I need to say more but I will because our experience at Little Clive was too good!
Located in Annerly, Little Clive is a modest gem nestled not too far from Brisbane's CBD. It offers generous amounts of natural light, delicious shakes, and a menu to satisfy any need.
A big difference in the operation of the cafe is the extremely friendly staff. More so than other places we've been, the staff at Little Clive are some of the most welcoming people we have encountered - they're even up for a general conversation and willing to go the extra mile if you have any dietary requirements. The menu accounts for you vegetarians, vegans, paleos, and gluten-free foodies, making it easy for every body to enjoy themselves. Extra browny points go to these guys for staying local and sourcing their produce from Rocklea Markets.
Just to shake things up for an average morning beverage, I indulged in the drool-worthy Redskin Milkshake. The first sip will have you in shock because it actually tastes exactly like Redskins. I don't think I'd be able to drink it with every breakfast but it was definitely worth the treat, especially when the garnishing fairy floss matched the fairy floss on my meal.
Currently, Little Clive are known for their signature Pancakes, but making an appearance on their forthcoming menu are Waffles. They've got the perfect amount of crispiness, drenched in chocolate sauce, sprinkled in seasonal fruit, and topped with chocolate fairy floss. Possibly one of the most beautiful breakfasts in Brisbane, so much so that it was a struggle to take the first bite. Once we did though, we didn't stop.
If you aren't feeling like fairy floss first thing in the morning there are many other options. Little Clive provide a versatile menu featuring healthier dishes like House Made Granola, an Avocado Plate, and the classic Eggs Benedict. We tested out their Avocado Plate on coconut charcoal sourdough with the addition of eggs, mushrooms, kale, and haloumi. It was a simple yet satisfying dish constructed wonderfully by each delicious ingredient.
Little Clive are now open nights from Thursday through to Sunday and have become host to themed trivia on Friday nights.
Such a creative menu and they accommodate to every need. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for hanging out with family and friends.
