It may be less than a week since Sushi & Nori and Hello Chicken have opened but they’ve already captured the hearts and dazzled the taste buds of many Brisbanites.
You’ll find both of these beautifully designed restaurants under The Green apartments on King Street in Bowen Hills. It’s the first Sushi & Nori in Brisbane and the first Hello Chicken in Australia, so it is almost guaranteed you haven’t experienced sushi or Korean fried chicken like this before.
Sushi & Nori and Hello Chicken are so completely different in style but both spectacular in their own right. Sushi & Nori is elegant, modern and fresh whereas Hello Chicken is funky bordering on a little hipster with its Kombi van and caravan windows.
As the plates skim past one by one at Sushi & Nori you’ll be wowed by the presentation and creativity of each dish. Even a simple dish like a Tuna Salad Roll is next level as Sushi & Nori’s version is topped with melted Parmesan cheese. If that doesn’t convince you, they’ve got a brussel sprout dish topped with Japanese sauce and dried chilli strings! Who knew brussel sprouts could be so good?
Onto the fried chicken.. Grab a beer from the Kombi van window and then head to the caravan.
The beer is mild so even if you aren’t a beer drinker, it is manageable. If you want to be adventurous, choose from the twelve different dipping sauces or go for some flavoured wings like Korean Chilli or Snow Cheese. You’ve also got sides like House Coleslaw and pickled vegetables to cut through the oiliness.
No matter what dish you choose, the visual and culinary experience of Sushi & Nori and Hello Chicken is not one to pass up. The design and atmosphere will draw you in and the food will make you stay for more. It’ll be your favourite Sushi and Korean Fried Chicken spot in no time.
Sushi & Nori and Hello Chicken are located in a great spot with beautifully designed restaurants and delicious food to match.
