A fine dining experience with a casual and comfortable atmosphere is the best way to describe Fix Restaurant and Wine Bar.
Fix Restaurant are offering their Business Bites menu from Tues-Fri (11:30 - 1:30) so if you're a city worker, make sure you head down and enjoy some of their delicious menu items! For more info visit here.
It’s easily found on Edward Street, a couple of blocks away from the heart of Brisbane CBD. They’re known for their steaks but that’s definitely not all that they have to offer! For those who work in the city or are nearby around lunch time, it’s a perfect opportunity to try their Business Bites lunch menu.
Fix Restaurant and Wine Bar can cater for lunch, dinner and a range of functions with its versatile layout. It’s also connected to the Port Office Hotel so you can't miss it.
The Business Bites menu, available from 11:30pm – 1:30pm Tuesday through to Friday, is a limited version of their main menu. Although small, there is a good range of dishes and options for those with dietary restrictions. You’ve got the option to have a main and beverage or entrée, main and beverage. The choices available for wine, such as the Squealing Pig Sauv Blanc, Devils Lair Chardonnay and Saltram 1859 Shiraz pair nicely with the food choices.
The house made duck liver pate, onion jam, cornichons and crusty bread is an outstanding entree. The duck liver pate is a must when going to Fix. Right down to the salad dressing, it was perfect. This is no secret though as it a menu favourite for regular customers.
For the main, a 300g rump 300 day grain fed black onyx, rangers valley, New South Wales steak was complimented beautifully with mushroom sauce and a choice of 4 different mustards. It was flavoursome, perfectly cooked and ridiculously tender.
I also got the privilege to taste the slow-cooked pork belly, sweet potato, apple cider pickled red cabbage entrée and the fresh market fish and seasonal accompaniments main. Both of these dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour. The market fish choices change weekly as well as the accompaniments, so you’ve got lots of variety. The barramundi was so fresh and indulgent with the crispy skin on one side.
Fix Restaurant and Wine Bar provides a simplistic menu with food exploding with flavour. The duck liver pate and the fresh barramundi were incredible. The Business Bites menu is perfectly suited to those working in the city but you can also try their wider menu during the evening or on a Saturday. Although, accessibility is slightly compromised being in the city and not in the heart, it is not something you’ll worry about once you’ve experienced the quality of Fix Restaurant and Wine Bar.
A comfortable fine dining restaurant with amazing food and service.
