Eagle Street Pier is the hub for good food with a spectacular view of the Story Bridge in Brisbane. It is only a few blocks away from the busy Brisbane CBD yet Eagle Street Pier has a beautiful combination of a relaxed and sophisticated vibe. There are a number of different restaurants and bars to choose from; something to suit any type of craving.
Mr & Mrs G Riverbar was the last instalment of Eagle Street Pier but is described as the “cherry on top”. In a lounge bar setting, you can grab lunch 5 days a week or tapas of an afternoon. A perfect spot to watch time pass.
Craving fine dining? Aria is the restaurant for you. Although the Brisbane restaurant is different to its sister in Sydney, the menu will be changing in the near future so that they are more aligned. Instead of an a la carte menu, there will be four course meals on offer with an emphasis on fresh produce. You know this is true when the Moreton Bay Bugs just melt in your mouth.
Cha Cha Char is home for steak lovers. Before choosing a meal from the menu, each table is shown the cuts of meat available and what flavours to expect. This is a great step forward in educating people of what they are eating. It adds excitement too because it is almost like you can customise your meal. No matter what cut you choose, the flavours are bold and the meat is tender.
Il Centro takes you to Italy. The flavours are traditional but with a modern twist. The well renowned Crab Lasagne has people flocking to their door and it is obvious why. It is rich, creamy and generous in size. The sweet and creamy sauce balances out the strong crab flavour.
Sake is so thrilling to the senses. Every aspect of the dining venture has been well thought out. From the deco to the dim lighting and even the seating adds so much to the overall experience. The Cape Grim Short Rib Bo Ssam is such a great idea where you customise your lettuce wrap by adding as much or as little of each ingredient as you like. It is also incredibly delicious.
Pony is sophisticated in every way. The decor is incredible as well as the plating and flavour combinations of each dish. Keeping ingredients simple and true to themselves but pairing with other interesting ingredients makes for a great flavour journey.
George’s Paragon is the king of the sea. Chins drop to the floor when the generous portions of perfectly cooked seafood comes out from the kitchen. Oysters, lobster, bugs, calamari, fish, prawns and so much more are on offer!
These are only some of the restaurants that you can find at Eagle Street Pier. Brisbane is so lucky to have this foodie sanctuary in such a beautiful part of the city.
