There are a few Coffee Hit cafes dotted around South Brisbane but after 2 years of planning, Coffee Hit North Lakes has finally opened in the new development of the shopping centre. They pride themselves in being a premium coffee shop. That as well as having a large selection of delicious food, makes it a one stop shop to satisfy all of your food and drink needs.
Coffee Hit North Lakes ensures that all of their Baristas are highly trained and qualified to make an excellent coffee. Staff go through vigorous training before they are able to serve the public. Coffee Hit doesn’t only want their baristas to be full of knowledge but they also enjoy educating their customers. Just recently, Erin Sampson who placed 3rd at the World Latte Art Championships held in Germany, visited Coffee Hit North Lakes to teach locals how to create latte art themselves.
Not all of us have a professional coffee machine, but here are some tips to help those as home with more basic machines to make a good latte:
- Starting with fresh, high quality coffee.
- Heat milk between 60 and 65 degrees as milk is at its sweetest at 60 degrees.
- Pour the milk into the coffee from a height so that it does not disturb the crema (giving you a blank canvas to create latte art with the foam).
Latte art does take practice to master. Erin herself would spent hours a day practising her skill. If you would like to get involved in more coffee workshops at Coffee Hit North Lakes, head in store or online to join their “Coffee Hitters” membership. Even without art, coffee is still the delicious liquid gold that gives us energy. To find a great premium coffee, head to Coffee Hit North Lakes.
