If you look up the word ‘Chur’ on Urban Dictionary, you’ll find it means kiwi for awesome; and that’s exactly what these burgers are. After tasting success in his original burger joint in Surry Hills, Chef Warren Turbull and his Chur squad expanded to Brisbane – and they haven’t looked back since.
Inspired from kiwi designer Scrap Wall, diners aren’t just treated to a mean feed – the awesome street artwork sets the scene for a cool, laid back environment. Staff at the Brisbane restaurant align perfectly with the theme, and are very friendly and helpful when it comes to service. Although located in the busy part of the valley, there’s plenty of street parking to snap up.
What these ‘Bros’ offer that escape the minds of other burger shops is the variety of meats on their burgers. You can get beef, pork, lamb, chicken – even fish and chickpea fritters for you pescetarians/vegos out there. The buns are sweet and soft as you would expect from a gourmet burger, and the southern fried chicken wings we had with jalapeno mayonnaise went down an absolute treat! For $12 a burger, you really can’t go wrong. Great bang for your buck!
Keep your eyes peeled on their social pages – they’ve usually got a ‘Chur Burger of the Week’ going. We were lucky enough to try out their Greek Zorba burger – it was choice, bro.
Perfect spot for a meal with a group of friends. Laid back vibe served with a killer variety of relatively-priced burgers.
