Celebrating Piggy Back Cafe with a unicorn party

This weekend Piggy Back Cafe turned one year old and they celebrated in the best possible way; with a unicorn party!

Piggy Back Cafe is located in the leafy suburb of Jindalee and to the casual observer looks like a normal suburban cafe. However it has spent the last year building its reputation for providing anything but the standard breakfast and lunch options. The menu bursts with both healthy and indulgent options; often with an Asian influence that pays homage to its sister restaurants Pawpaw and Mons Ban Sabai Thai.

We’ve been lucky enough to visit Piggy Back Cafe before to enjoy their delicious breakfast menu. This time though we were there to experience something very special. The team at Piggy Bank Cafe put on an incredible spread to celebrate. Some of the treats included deep fried bao with fruit tingle ice cream, rainbow sponge cake with cream icing and rainbow fudge. Even one of their regular menu items, the pannacotta with granola, seasonal fruit and honeycomb, got the rainbow treatment. Everything was incredibly delicious; though the deep fried bao was definitely a stand out. The bursts of crunchy fruit tingles, the creamy ice cream and the chewy bao coated with chocolate combined into the perfect treat.

Of course you couldn’t have a unicorn party at Piggy Back Cafe without having their famous rainbow lattes - in fact they even have their own article right here on Blackbook. They weren’t the only drink to get the rainbow treatment; menu regulars hot chocolate and the iced turmeric latte . The hot chocolate was delicious; rich and topped with cream (and sprinkles - of course).

Piggy Back Cafe celebrated its first birthday in style, and if their unicorn celebration is any indication, the best is yet to come.
