Don’t have plans for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend? Could I perhaps tempt you with delicious seafood, good wine and tunes from some of Australia’s brightest stars? That’s some of what will be waiting for you at Caxton Street Festival on Sunday October 2nd.
Caxton Street Festival started 22 years ago as a primarily seafood and wine festival and has evolved into one of Queensland’s most iconic street parties. Caxton Street Festival has music to suit all tastes, from Last Dinosaurs to Stonefield and Urth Boy (among many others). Plus for the first time ever, the festival also features a DJ stage with headline act Nicky Night Time and sets from Brisbane’s best local DJ’s.
When it comes to food you are spoiled for choice. Some of the gourmet street eats you can get your hands on include crumbed whiting or fried prawn tacos from Gambaro, loaded fries and spit roasted pulled pork courtesy of Fritzenberger, and an Italian meatball panini from Black Hide Brother. If a sit down meal is more your style plenty of options are available including a hot and cold seafood platter for up to 10 people from Caxton Hotel that has to be seen to be believed. And top it off pop up bars will be serving up craft beer, local wine and cocktails.
