After six years of careful fermentation Brewhouse Brisbane in Woolloongabba is ready to bring you restaurant quality food in a relaxed pub atmosphere.
Over the last five months passionate owners Grant and Michelle have carefully renovated everything from the front bar to the restaurant to the beer garden. They've worked tirelessly to make their vision come true and their commitment to detail has really paid off. Brewhouse Brisbane is now a modern industrial space perfect for a casual drink or dinner.
What really sets Brewhouse Brisbane apart from your standard pub is its commitment to high quality, local produce. The chef truly prides himself on searching out the best possible ingredients to use in his dishes. What he does with those ingredients is definitely not your standard pub fare either. In the course of our meal we were served beer battered barramundi with a raspberry vinaigrette, crispy pork belly with a traditional Asian master stock and noodles and a cheeky twist on the prawn cocktail; which was served with an avocado salad and chipotle mayonnaise. The real standout was the duck confit; it was accompanied by a blood orange reduction that cut through the richness of the duck perfectly.
Each course was paired with a beer made by the in house brewery. Starting quite light with the Brissy Pils (an organic pilsner) as the meal progressed we wended our way down into darker beers. The pilsner was followed by their bestselling BPA (Brisbane Pale Ale) and then a rich, malty Old Ale. Accompanying the macadamia brownies and beer malt dumplings we were served for dessert was a uniquely flavoured oat stout.
Brewhouse Brisbane has its work cut out for it to distinguish itself in a suburb already awash with pubs. However it’s commitment to restaurant quality food, locally brewed beer and a passionate team guarantees it a spot amongst the best pubs in Brisbane. It would be equally appropriate for casual work drinks, a date night dinner or your next event.
A step above all the pubs out there, Brewhouse Brisbane has a bright future.
