It was late, I was hungry and all I wanted was something to help put me into that food coma we’re always chasing. Cue the list of late night dining spots to visit when you don’t feel like lining the pockets of the World’s corporation giants *cough* *cough*.

We absolutely loved Shady Palms, nestled comfortably at the far end of Stones Corner with its sub-tropic vibes and relaxed attitude. The menu has been designed for share platters, including tacos, croquettes & quesadilla's with the addition of some 'selfies' and signature burgers. A highlight from the list are the range of taco's (especially the popcorn chicken ones). More importantly, they're open late which puts them firmly on our list!

Located down a questionable alleyway in the red light district in Fortitude Valley, Greaser serves up the best of bar food along with a wide-spread selection of whiskies and cocktails. There’s ample seating, and it's not sweltering hot despite being underground. It’s the real secretiveness about it that gives it the edge over other late night bars and eateries in Brisbane.

The Burrow sells itself on the super sociable feeling you get when sitting at a long wooden table, sharing pizza in the company of your mates. However don't be fooled! The casual dining is met with impeccable service, making for an easy choice when deciding where to dine late at night. We enjoyed the extensive pizza menu the most, specifically the marinated Caribbean style jerk chicken! Is your mouth watering yet?

Super Whatnot is the hole in wall bar and kitchen you haven't found out yet. Tucked away down Burnett Lane, Super Whatnot serves up refreshing beers, tasty burgers and funky vibes adding to the step forward that is the American bar scene. This bar has an odd shape which makes it super unique, and oh so satisfying when falling into the sunken lounge overlooking the lane.

Damien Griffiths is at it again with his next venture into a French styles bistro, which will soon become your one stop shop for a late night steak fix. Les Bubble's gives off such an informal approach to a serious restaurant, however serves up the best when it comes to the quality cuts of meat in their meals. What we love more is their amusing embrace of the building's shady history and how it has changed.
