Brissy's Best: Dog-Friendly Cafes

Great breakfast food is becoming even more competitive in Brisbane, so it's good to see some cafe's welcoming in our four legged friends. We've curated a dog-friendly list of our favourite Brisbane cafes. No more worries that you'll have to leave your pooch outside, all alone and without a refreshing bowl of water.

Frenchies Cafe

142 Bay Terrace, Wynnum QLD 4178

Frenchies is a home away from home for all dogs ofΒ the Wynnum area. They serve a great stack of pancakes but were founded on their purpose of being the friendliest of dog cafes!


Piggy Back Cafe

86 Curragundi Rd, Jindalee QLD 4074

Based in a modest shopping complex in Jindalee, Piggy Back Cafe has become well known for their famous latte art. So much so, that their head barista recently won the ASCA state competition for latte art. Along with their love of rainbow coloured swans, the cafe also embraces their love of furry friends. Often covering their Instagram are cute pics of pooches lapping up sunshine in the outdoor seating.

Blackstar Coffee

With an almost completely outdoor seating plan, Blackstar Coffee is a great place to enjoy your puppers company. Even more animal friendly is their brand new menu featuring vegan smoothies and raw treats! The cafe provides complete sun protection, great coffee, and water for man's best friend. They even rep the hashtag #blackstardogs on social media.


Todd & Pup

398 Tarragindi Rd, Moorooka QLD 4105

This southside destination is laid out on a deck of AstroTurf, providing for all members of the family. Todd & Pup opened as a sibling venture of Fairfield's Slinky Espresso. It has become a local favourite serving up Genovese coffee and great, classic breakfasts.

Samson & Sophie

Every Sunday Samson & Sophie is overflowing with locals and their puppers waiting out for a table. The coffee is great, and the food is even better. This shabby chic abode is a great local stop to meet up with friends and indulge in the hotcakes - trust me, you have to!


Microlot Coffee House

5/135 Riding Rd, Hawthorne QLD 4171

A modest little house to find comfort alongside some of Brisbane's best coffee. The suburban cafe roasts locally and sources it's beans directly. Accommodating for people and their puppers, Microlot offer a homely range of meals and lovely outdoor seating beneath shade.


Sassafras Canteen

88 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington QLD 4064

Sassafras is known for their giant buttermilk hotcakes, relaxing vibe, and their pupper friendly amosphere. The Paddington cafe is open long days so you can pop in any time with a menu to satisfy any kind of food-mood.


Goodness Gracious

250 Oxley Rd, Graceville QLD 4075

This one-year-old cafe has grown a reputation for itself with tasty, environmentally sustainable eats. Menu ingredients are sourced locally from Brisbane markets and various other outlets. Coffee is also locally sourced from Bear Bones Espresso with their roastery located in the heart of fortitude valley. Goodness Gracious openly welcomes customers and their dogs to enjoy their days out.


Nana & Da's

12 Homebush Rd, Kedron QLD 4031

Specialty coffee, all-day breakfast, and gluten free treats! What more could you ask for? Oh, and to hang out with your dog. Well, that box is ticked too. Nana & Da's is a little house of all your favourite things based in Kedron and with not even a year of being open they have already become well-loved in the area.


First Coffee Co

First Coffee Co is a little hole-in-the-wall stop located near the beach in Cleveland. It's perfect for getting caffeinated on your way to the coast, or simply a great excuse to get out of the city. The owner is always up for cuddling your pup and makes a damn, good batch brew. Yum!
